Moms First

A helping hand for your pregnancy and your body.

Moms First is a program for pregnant women. The goal is to reduce the number of babies that pass away before they are one year old. We recruit high-risk moms with children six weeks or younger, pregnant moms, and referrals for moms that have lost an infant through miscarriage or death. The objective of the program is to reduce infant mortality and improve low birth weight of newborns. Serving moms that are residents of Central, Downtown and Garden Valley neighborhoods of Cleveland, Ohio. Operating Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mom's First provides home visits and social support as follows:
  • Assistance in selecting a doctor.
  • Assistance in making and getting to appointments with the doctor.
  • Connections with medical, social service providers, and systems.
  • Provides answers to questions about prenatal care, birth control and family planning
Mom's First is a free service. The qualifications for service are as follows:
  • Must be a resident of the Central social planning area.
  • Be pregnant (It is best to get into the program during the first three months of your pregnancy).
  • Be at high risk of having problems during pregnancy.
