PARENTS AS TEACHERS

Parents As Teachers is for pregnant mothers and families having a child under the age of 3 living in Cuyahoga County. This program is for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers. It provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Services are designed with the family’s concerns and goals in mind, empowering first-time mothers to successfully change their lives and the lives of their children through evidence-based home visiting.

PARENTS AS TEACHERS

Parents as Teachers is an international, evidence-based, home visiting program that supports parents as their child’s earliest and best teacher and helps children grow, learn and reach their full potential. Families with a child under age three in Cuyahoga County are eligible. The goals are to:

• Increase children’s school readiness and school success
• Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve parenting practices
• Provide early detection of developmental delays and health issues
• Decrease parent stress
